Nintendo will charge $$$ for the smartphone app required for Switch Online?

i'd imagine it is like the HBO app.

i can download it for free and browse all the content HBO has to offer but i have to prove i'm a subscriber in order to access the content. nintendo can't be dumb enough to charge for a subscription service and also charge to download the app.
