Can you play co-op mario kart with just one joy-con? I didn't actually watch that part of the conference.  Is it like Mario Kart wii? I hated mario kart with the wii remote.

 

Yes, two people can use each half of a Joy-Con to play MarioKart. Its shown in the Switch trailer from two months ago. Is it optimal for playing the game? Probably not, but it works in a pinch.
