Mario Odyssey is successor Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine, not to Galaxy and 3D Land/World

Objectives don't make it any closer to 64 or Sunshine because the approach and experience differs significantly from 64 and Sunshine, it's linear with no exploration and sandbox elements the only difference between the experience in 3DW and the Galaxy duo is that one has a flagpole at the end of the level the other has a star.
