Microsoft has more money than god, so Xbox is fine as long as they are interested. Which could change, sure, but I wouldn't worry too much about sales. Microsoft is still working (somewhat =P) on Windows Phone despite it being a failure of epic proportions!
Microsoft will at least try again in Gen 9. If they again crash and burn, yeah, they could pull out. But until then, I don't see a reason to be worried about Xbox.
