I think people put way too much stock into internet percpetion vs. actual perception.
The Wii is a great example; got plenty of hate on the internet for its casual appeal and glut of shovelware but most people who bought it IRL enjoyed it...at least for a time.
Moral of the story, don't pay attention to what people say on the internet.
