money-grubbingadjective

uk /ˈmʌn.iˌɡrʌb.ɪŋ/ us /ˈmʌn.iˌɡrʌb.ɪŋ/ disapproving

Someone who is money-grubbing has money as their main interest and does anything possible to get a lot of it.

I think it's a UK / US english thing, never heard anyone say money-grubbing here before in uk. Google tells me it's the other way round in the US so looks like you've taught me something.

You are welcome for the education. Its like when I learned that they still put the U in certain words like colour or armour. Just little things, but still informative.
