"The Wii launched with 33 games during its first month"

Yes, killer apps like Cars and Barnyard  how exciting! The Switch sure can use some shovelware.  The only other good games besides Twilight Princess were very niche games: Elebits and Excite Truck. It showed how sparse the Wii's release lineup was when Red Steel - a game with a 63 metacritic score - sold more than a million copies. But I guess quantity over quality right?

"Dozens more announced for the first year, including Super Mario Galaxy, one of the greatest games of all time. "

And? the same is true for the Switch. We'll be getting Splatoon 2, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, a Mario game, a Zelda game just like the Wii's first year.

"The gravity of the titles was enough to keep the Wii instantly flying off store shelves  for more than two years straight, and holiday seasons after."

Sorry, having a vivid memory of that time period, we weren't particularly drowning in games. I remember by the end of 2007 we all finished what was in the Wii's library, were anticipatory for E3 and were estatic to have a promise that Miyamoto was developing a Pikmin game after the disaster that was E3 2008 with Wii Music and Cammie Dunaway. Please. The Wii had the worst droughts of quality games than any Nintendo platform -including worse than the Wii U.

"Now with the Switch. No killer app since anyone can get it on Wii U instead. "

Hindsight is 20/20. Who would have thought Wii Sports would be the killer app that sold the platform before it was released? For all we know the Switch's killer app is already announced. And Twilight Princess releasing on the Gamecube didn't stop the Wii's success and superior sales for the game.

"There's only 3 other games at launch, and no more in the first month."

This is false, for multiple reasons. 1. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/all-of-the-nintendo-switch-launch-games-confirmed-/1100-6446924/ 2. It is quite possible that there is tons of shovelware coming to the Switch as well, it just doesn't get time at Nintendo's conference.

"The biggest game by far is Zelda which, as mentioned, is already available to anyone who has a Wii U. "

The same could've  been said for the Wii and Twilight Princess.

"There's nothing else to look forward to unless you want to look forward to a very humdrum looking jrpg with the Xenoblade title slapped on, and an uninspiring Mario game that looks like Mario the Hedgehog 2006"

Yes, believe it or not people are looking forward to these games. Don't project your values onto other people.

"Galaxy this one ain't, not all Mario games are made equal."

I've seen nothing but acclaim for this game, in fact, much more than there was for Galaxy before it released. Again, stop projecting your whacky minority opinions onto others.

"Nintendo has done a piss poor job with the the software, it is not convincing any new gamers to jump on the Nintendo wagon. It's certainly not convincing any 3DS users to shell the 350 euros to upgrade. There's no need to upgrade Wii U either since those users can already buy the game they want. Anyone who thinks this one has a leg up on the Wii is delusional."

Please, live in your revisionist fantasy land where the Wii was a droughtless paradise. I will live in the real world where every week Nintendo fans would complain because the Wii wouldn't get third party game XYZ, and Nintendo wasn't developing fast enough.
