The Wii was weak, had motion controls and a nice cheap price.

I definitely think Nintendo are trying to maximise profits from their most loyal fans before they drop the price to get the mainstream.

I'm hoping that's what's going on because I want a Switch but not at $300.

If they do a $100 price cut in a few months like they did with the 3DS, it will be a really crappy move for their most loyal early buyers fans. Even if those fans will most likely defend this move themselves, happy to pay 100$ more to show their support...
