The Switch is Nintendo wanting a presence in home console arena but focusing on being a portable device. This is because 3DS did fine and Nintendo Wii U flopped (worst selling Nintendo home console ever). Nintendo simply doesn't want to compete with X1 and PS4 directly, too expensive. Forget the console war BS, this is the reality.

Even if NIntendo claims is a home console first, that's PR bullshit. The console was designed for portability and that has affected price and capabilities more than anything.
