Yeah we kinda knew this months ago. This plus poor battery life and high cost really hinder it's viability as a handheld. I can certainly see why Nintendo would try to market it as a home console first and foremost, but really that's still counterproductive. Their success is in handhelds so they need to market it as such. Be it seen as a home console or handheld, it's gimped either way anyway.
