I honestly have no clue what Japan is thinking about the Switch. The third parties might have seen it before hand and realized this might not do well. I mean, when you bring your Japanese third party developers to your conference and all they say is "We haven't started to work on anything", that's a huge warning. They didn't even show Dragon Quest. PS4 and 3DS have gameplay footage. Such a Japanese focused conference, and they didn't show any Dragon Quest running. I think Square might be worried and are bound by whatever contract they signed back in the DS days. Hell the only game from Square they showed is a PSP looking 2.5D JRPG. That's a huge problem when you consider the 3DS launched with a relatively full fledged Kingdom Hearts game. That excuse of a Street Fighter instead of Monster Hunter is really worrying for the Switch. Like expected this to sell at least 20 million in Japan. I have no clue now. I suspect the Vita's niche might be migrating over to the PS4/PC instead.
