I havn't payed for online ever. The closest I went to paying for online is almost forgetting to cancel my ps+ trial. Infact, when I heard that xbox was doing such a thing way back when, I skipped the console entirely and same with the 360. I got my ps4 so much later due to that as well.
So the question is before I fully make my decision, how much will it cost? Nintendo's site doesn't mention anything about cloud saves and etc so it gives you less things than PS+. So is it going to cost $10-$15/year? If so, maybe but if its anymore, I think it will go the way that ps4 went and I will buy the Switch a lot later and not pay for online.
Oh and that maybe doesn't mean an automatic yes
