Unless the Switch is hugely successful, which I highly doubt at this price, we are gonna to see a real handheld coming after. Nintendo won't let his handheld business die. |
Highly unlikey, the Nintendo Switch has 3ds install base behind who are going to move on to Nintendo's next handheld; The Switch especially it gains its ground and has had its first year of games. Remember how awful the 3ds did at launch? Nintendo did a price drop and it still wasnt until it got a good year or 2 of games until it started gaining ground. Dont like the Switch dont buy it, but dont expect a new handheld until at leats 5+ years from now which will probaly end up being the Switch 2. Maybe wait until the console releases until make your judgement, as soon as this thing gets Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Super Mario Odyssey it really can't fail as bad as the Wii U which got NONE of these main series games (3D World was not a true 3D Mario game like Galaxy and of course Odyssey). But dont worry you'll e able to enjoy Nintendo's IOS and Android games which are basically watered down mobile apps like (100% of the current appstore) which main purpose is just to promote the real games coming only to Nintendo Switch! 2017 is gonna be a hype year! Getting it day one $299 is nothing compared to the lastest iPad Pro and it'll even have the same amount of storage as its $799 configuration only you can expand the Switch's memory easily with micro SD cards
