If "too expensive" was a valid criterion, then the PS3 couldn't be called the successor to the PS2. The XL versions of the 3DS have been selling better than the standard size, Switch is about the same size as a (New) 3DS XL.

The 3DS XL can be closed, the Switch can.

You are all expecting Nintendo to have a single product sold a 300. It would be suicidal with its market.
