Maybe you're right it was a long time ago but looking at this list here it says the WiiU launched with 32 titles. http://www.ign.com/wikis/wii-u/Wii_U_Launch_Games_(US) seems like the Switch is launching with a much weaker line up. I understand Zelda is a big selling point but I suspect alot of people will just opt for the WiiU version if the other titles are convincing either to upgrade.

And how many of those games can make you buy a console? Yes, none.

In this case you already have 3 or 4 of those on the first 9 months, quantity for the sake of quantity is not the important thing here and we dont even know all the launch releases, sure there is a bunch of indie games coming too Switch like happened with the WiiU too, but they wont make a difference.

With first party track records of releasing on time I wouldn't consider anything as a confirmed release date until they actually announce a firm release date and even then theres still a good chance it will be deplayed. Mario looks pretty complete so im sure that will release this year, even though xenoblade 2 devs said release for 2017 i still find that hard to believe and the trailer was pretty unstable.

Anyway back to your point I know you only need 1 or 2 good titles to sell a console but what incentives does a WiiU owner have to upgrade? I feel it would be better to wait until more titles to be announced and get some firm dates before investing. With Mario kart and Zelda being available on the WiiU the wait for the next flood of games is a long one, perhaps if it doesn't pay off we could see another 3DS situation where Nintendo drop the price not long after launch which is good for the consumer and worked wonders for 3DS sales.
