The Wii U bombed because of momentum. People forget things very easily, but before the PS4 and XBO, the Wii U was one of the fastest selling systems of all time. It outsold the PS3 and 360 for half a year.

There are 2 real negatives we can bring up: price and launch line up. Like I've said before, Nintendo's market lies on the $200-<$299 range. This, I'm very dissapointed with and even a little nervous about.

The launch is difficult to tell. BotW is being incredibly well received. It might be enough with it alone for launch (it's a really long game), plus, MK is coming just one month later, and a few months after that is Spl2n. But it's hard to ignore how, overall, really bad the launch line up is.

But again, console sales are a marathon, not a race. It's a long road ahead, dont use all your energy at the beginning.

Launch titles may not necessarily be a big, big issue. Not a lot of the previous consoles launched with a stellar library day 1. Plus BoTW's the most highly anticipated Nintendo game in a while so that can go up there with Mario 64 for example. It's a long term investment and Nintendo is gonna have to buckle down and make sure they continue releasing games throughout the Switch's life cycle. I mean did you really buy a PS4 for the launch titles alone? I thought most bought due to the promises of more coming down the pipeline? And the DS didn't have a stellar launch up lineup either but we all know how that ended up (not saying the switch will be the DS).
