I can see a system where

1) you have all the same free vs paid tier separation as MSony do on their consoles. Meaning apps and stuff are in the free tier but online gaming, cloud saves, etc are in paid tier.
2) you earn coins in the Nintendo reward system that currently exists. This allows you to save up for the various items they offer.
3) current Nintendo rewards system is beefed up and now starts to offer digital copies of games based on coin values of some sort.

This allows Nintendo to be competitive and build off of the rewards system they already have in place. Would actually drive its usage.

As for cost, Nintendo is a firm believer in their value proposition but they won't push higher than MSony. So, this would remain at the same pricing as their services.
