| CaptainExplosion said: What would it be like if Nintendo, instead of ever making the GameCube, teamed up with Microsoft to make the original Xbox? Would it have been better or worse for the gaming industry, or not make a difference? I think maybe it would have benefited both companies, as Microsoft would focus on the hardware, while Nintendo only had to focus on game development. Nintendo wouldn't even have to part ways with Rare, meaning all the games Rare was working on before the GameCube and Xbox would actually see the light of day. Plus the Xbox would have had a better life overall in the Japanese market, whereas today nobody in Japan seems to care about Xbox. |
Name a company that partnered with Microsoft and survived.
In reality, MS's role had been software, if such a partnership had come true. Basically it had been Gamecube with half-assed Windows and Microsoft API's, just like the Dreamcast.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
