No surprise, Sony wants to fully stock the most competive markets (US/UK),
if supply lags behind demand a bit in other markets,
they aren't worried about losing a customer to other brand.

And it's not just about direct brand conversion of US/UK customers getting Xbone S instead,
but the sooner those customer get a PS4 Pro, the sooner they are evangelizing to friends.
(who themselves are potentially in the market for either PS4/Pro or Xbone)
Even a case where friend talks how they want PS4Pro but can't get it is less convincing.

When I hear "regular people" in US talk about consoles, mostly re: their kids' gaming,
it is always "Xbox" mentioned, because that is what dominated US market last gen.
The "less informed" market is ESPECIALLY prone to that, and Sony wants to maximize gains.

Because if you didn't notice, they can hardly depend on Japan to help console sales much anymore.
Sony and Japan is very aligned to US, likewise why Sony was editing film scripts for US State Dept propaganda.
