Pokémon Sun and Moon players fail second global event

Well as a casual pokemon player the game doesn't give you much incentive to "catch them all" or to catch numerous pokemon really...when I played the game I only felt like cycling through a few pokemon i rarely had to change my team, and sometimes I had a pokemon that was so useful for later on in the game that it just felt weird when I didn't have to take it out of my team comp the entire game.

that's not the point, people probably caught a few bilions Pokémon during that event, the problem is that they need to connect to the Global Link and to join the event for their actions to count and it's an unnecessarily long process that many players don't even know is a thing. I myself contributed with only 1 Pokémon caught in this latest event because I find the QR scanning painfully slow, moreover you can only catch one pokémon per day with this method...

What? I thought they automatically logged it in for you as long as you were on your 3ds and it  was online?
