All else being equal, I would choose a color that I like, obviously. But, I wouldn't spend one extra cent, or drive to one extra store to get it (unless the only thing available was a color was something that would look ridiculous in my entertainment center. Then I may drive to one or two more stores). I damn sure would not re-buy a console just to get one that looks different.
I own an original XBone. I prefer the white XB1S. But, there is no way that I would buy one, unless mine breaks.
While we're kind of on the subject, I've heard much talk about how the PS4 looks better than the XBone. I just got a PS4 Pro for xmas, and it sits just below my xbone. So, I've now been able to do a side-by-side, in home comparison. I've got to say, to my American tastes, the XB looks much, much better.
But, on another aspect of design, the Pro's ventilation setup makes it much easier to house in my entertainment center. I have my XBone sitting on top of it. This would not work the other way around.
