omg wtf are you talking about. Have you not looked at the shelves at your local EB/Gamestop lately? If you look at the PS3 shelves they sell Blu-Ray Movies.
Also the guy said he will be back later that week meaning he is still going to buy the PS3, he just needs money to buy a game or two.
