This console continued the decline for me and like with the GameBoy Advance, I was disappointed with most offerings and the Gamecube would become my least favorite Nintendo system for quite some time. The system made me tired of console gaming for the most part, and when the PC got a bunch of my personal top 10 favorite games of all time I basically left it altogether. At both extremes of the system's life though, there were highlights;
Luigi's Mansion
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Luigi's Mansion was a breath of fresh air in the Nintendo game-stable. Though it took a while for it to warm up to me, over time I did get to appreciate it more and more. Finally though I understood that it's actually a classic and Nintendo found a fun, simple yet engaging new mechanic to build upon. At the end there was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which was finally a Nintendo game like the classics were. Much of my disappointment with the Gamecube was because of Nintendo's experimentations with it's main franchises. Super Mario was questionable with Sunshine, Mario Kart was weird with Double Dash and Zelda got far from what it should be with Wind Waker. Twilight Princess was a trowback though, and with it's amazing dungeons I immediately liked it. It was too late for my cousins though, they are gone from modern Nintendo.
