If Switch sells 50m and Nintendo dont release a dedicated handheld (Switch is a hybrid), is that classed as successful?? Wii U and 3DS combined will reach 80million and its been classed as a poor gen for Nintendo. Im guessing Nintendo might have a 3DS type successor waiting in the wings in case Switch doesn't fly off the shelves. Its quite a dicey move from Nintendo when you think about it. Their console reputation cant get any lower, but if Switch is a disaster it could also harm its handheld reputation. I wonder how many Switches would have to be sold for Nintendo not to make another dedicated handheld.
