I never understood this logic. A fan is still getting one regardless if they bought it from the retailer or a reseller. If they feel the value is $500 vs the retail price of $250, then that is their perception of value. If they can't either A) pre-order to guarantee stock or B) be patient like I did for a Wii, then again its that fan's choice to spend their money as they wish. This is not a concert or limited edition item, this is a mass produced item that can be found at a retailer for retail price at some point in time. So the choice is always to plan ahead, be patient, or pay more.
Honestly, I say I'll buy one to resell each time and I never do partly because there is risk in that it bombs and resell prices are below retail very quickly.
