Why not? Nintendo shit works out the gate, so no penalty for day 1 really. With consoles, I would say a pre-order is mandatory, unless you are definite about no day / week / month 1. I'm beginning to think NS will be similar-ish to Wii in popularity. But I won't make that prediction until I see the presentation and day 1 games.
