This is the problem with modern day business practices. It ruins games that have similar ideals and makes them get a negative reception. When I ask people why they don't think Overwatch should have won game of the year, they say "Because it's multiplayer only" or when they react to a list they say "Really? A game without a campaign gets Game of the Year? Good job generic website xxx..."

This to me is completely founded around other video games of the past that are multiplayer only. That's the only reason people are chalking their dislike up to it being multiplayer only. If this was Battlefield much less people would have a problem with it. The reality is ... a game being multiplayer only shouldn't disqualify it. In fact, i genuinely believe that this might be the best new game of the year. I've had more fun with just over 20+ hours in this game than any other game of the year, with Rise of the Tomb Raider(PC) and Doom being the only close ones.

So yes Overwatch does deserve game of the year ... the other stuff is a bit dumb. Honestly, Tomb Raider was the best game to be released on the PS4 this year, much better than Uncharted 4.
