Well aside from the poorly told story, I had a great time with the game. I actually enjoyed how much 'downtime' there was, it was very relaxing for me to play and the main characters were stupid and likable. It's got egregious problems, but kudos for trying something different.
And judging by the responses to this thread, it looks like your answer is no. We're not all in agreement.
