Software isn't going up anytime soon unless 2017 packs the huge sellers, and even then they would all need to be on 3DS.
2014 was special due to the Yokai Watch boom, plus Pokemon, plus Monster Hunter, plus Smash, plus other two somewhat good sellers Mario Kart 8 and Final Fantasy Explorers. 2016 had Pokemon Sun and Moon, Persona 5, and Final Fantasy XV... That's all.
