I enjoyed it, however it doesn't have that Final Fantasy feel to it and I think that's due part to it being an open world game. I've always said FF massively story driven and never stray too much from that story during your playthrough but with this I went sonmany hours doing side quests and exploring that I was basically forgetting where I was in the story and what was happening.
I did like the characters and I liked how they interacted while exploring it gave them more personality and character, I hope it's something they keep doing with FF games but I do think making sonopen world next time and also go back to the active time battle system.
