| RolStoppable said: We are less than a year away from the launch of the VR headsets, so there's no way that all of the announced VR-enabled games would already be released (and there were a lot announced before the headsets went on sale). A more relevant measurement would be to look at how many games got announced since the launch of PS VR and will be announced in the coming months, or more importantly, what Sony's plans are in terms of providing new VR-enabled games. I don't think Vive and Oculus Rift have any kind of notable first party game development behind them; do the makers of those headsets even have any studios that make games? Regarding VR hardware and accessories, VR-ready reads nicely on the feature list of laptops and the like. As for the matter of opinion, that may be true, but the best course of action is to take a step back and look at sales to gauge how favorable opinions are for VR. Vive and Oculus had already flopped, so that only left PS VR. Which is allegedly sold out in most places, but the catch is that the shipments weren't big and are estimated to have been below 1m units. I have no issue with you liking PS VR, but I can't take positive feedback of a few users over sales. I remember we had a discussion about VR before and this one will probably not turn out any different. It's maybe for the best if we give it a rest for the time being and revisit it in another three months, or sooner in case that Sony reveals some sales numbers. You can have the last word. |
Agreed, it's more fun with actual numbers. And with the ease to get high up in online scoreboards for PSVR game I have to admit sales can't be stellar.
To be continued, perhaps when Capcom reveals how many people attempted and/or played resident evil 7 in VR. It would be nice if there was a trophy linked to VR so you can simple check the rarity of it. Wishful thinking I know. So hard to get numbers nowadays.
