That's disgusting. But violence isn't violence, and this probably won't be labelled as a hate crime in the media, despite the fact that it clearly is. This is why debate needs to be open and no one should ban definitions from being used in certain cases where the motivation is obviously the same as in many other cases.
My point is that the whole "racism is something pale skinned people do to dark skinned people" needs to take a hike, it's not only untrue, it creates a setting where some violence or hate is considered more benign and/or understandable and thus not condemned as harshly, when it should be the same for everyone (not okay, if that was unclear).
Also; Trump supporters will have a field day with this footage, expect days and weeks of "look at what's happening to our country!", "we need to become great again!".
Equality needs to be actually equal at some point of it's to gain serious traction globally, we can't excuse horrible actions being done by members of certain groups or segments of society, nor should we judge anyone more harshly within the same reasoning.
