I think MS will do the same with Scorpio. It won't matter if Scorpio destroys it hardware wise since both are still tied to the base models.

As someone who bought both a Ps4 and a pro on release day, I'd be quite happy with a late 2018/ mid 2019 PS5 release :)

I do agree it can be problematic to have the Scorpio tied to the Xbox 1 in terms of parity for the Xbox gamers, especially with the Scorpio releasing so late in this lifecycle

Wouldn't a 5 year console cycle be the shortest for PlayStation ever? I don't think their fan base would be happy about it.
