Well, people were bidding on Smashboards to change the tourny standard to heavy brawl for awhile since it brings air speed closer to melees...
Pretty sure since you can't turn Heavy brawl on online though made it a no. =/
I did find it seemed to go faster in Heavy Brawl, but inducting it as a tourny standard would be difficult as practicing online is impossible for it. Offline practice works, but its just so much easier to go online.
Brawl's made us lazy :x
Melee though... in the end it was basically Fox only on Final Destination, hence the common joke of the same thing. Fox and Falco were the two broken characters. The tiers in melee weren't nearly as balance as Brawl seems to be so far. However it took quite a few years of melee being out to evolve the way it did. Wavedashing wasn't found within a week of the game being out.
