Yes, Wii U had great games but it also had constant droughts meaning those great titles were few and far between, along with a poor concept, poor marketing and a poor price for what it offered. 2-3 great games a year wont offset all those problems that Wii U had.

Switch is not gauranteed to be a success but the concept of a hybrid device with a unifed software library is a much better concept than glasses free 3D or controller with a screen so as long as the device is priced appropriately, has a strong marketing campaign and a steady flow of quality games (consolidating support of 3DS & Wii U should do it) than it has potential to do well.

Being weak had very little to do with Wii U failing.
