I think many of you are focusing on specific words of various statements without considering the larger context. We've heard others say it is easy to port and dev, we've seen settings in unreal engine 4 that builds in each system automatically, now we've seen this dev who states direct ports not capable. Though this dev has also been in GAF saying that he hasn't done anything on NS and explaining what will need to be done to get a port to NS.

It's not that it is impossible. They won't have to build a new engine (like wth Wii and WiiU). But it is more work than using the engine to build for NS.

What I've been saying in my comparison thread is that the yearly core games will be there and some of the one off AAA titles. It will depend on the engine being used and the expected profit loss risk.

I think YOU are missing that there is a difference in talking about GENERAL "difficulty to dev for" and engine compatability,
and porting SPECIFIC GAMES, i.e. AAA performance games built around Xbone/PS4 minspec, to a low spec plaform.
The topic this dev is reponding to is the latter one, and indeed it DOES have relevance for expectations of AAA ports as you bring up.
When people efending it as "OK, it can handle lastgen AAA fine" that is clear indication of the situation.  Denial helps nobody.
