Sorry to bump an old thread, but it's confirmed! Nintendo's Switch console will have full 5GHz Wi-Fi support! And it's the MIMO kind too, meaning up to 866Mbps!

This is fantastic for me! I always get very low latency and high connection speeds in that band!
