Reasons why people use smartphone/tables: phone calls, text messaging, Android/iOS apps... Yes, I am expecting Nintendo to actually put forth a device that can stand up to the competition. I was expecting them to finally bring a product to the market that had Calling, Text, and non gaming apps. As a fan of games, I wanted a mobile gaming device that had a chance to bring back a larger market.
Carrying your phone around is ridiculous? Are you serious? Yes, if you have to carry a phone around, for the simple fact, that handhled makers refuse to offer calling and texting at a bare minimum, that is rediculous. Carrying two devices with 5in screens that do 99% the same thing, except one can make calls, and the other can't play games, is stupid. I get carrying a Phone and a laptop, or a handheld and a laptop, they offer a diferent level of computing, and tasks. Carrying a Phone and a Handheld, just because both phone manufacturers and handheld manufactures refuse to create a market to eliminate the issue is stupid.
And you think that by recreating feature set of smartphone/tablets Nintendo will magically sell 240M+? If Switch or a new PS Phone came out, they would blow past that 240 million mark. The only reason smartphones are selling the way they are is because their is no other option. Give people the option for a more functional mobile device, and you will have a massive shift in the mobile space. Android and iOS are not the end all be all. I can't even believe you are saying there is nothing Nintendo can do to get back to 240M. That is the most defeated statement I have possibly ever heard. Seriously? Sure, then why should anyone ever start up a new business or question the norm? What is the point of innovation, and progress? Everything that is big today started because someone decided to make a change, and challange the normal thinking. Cars were laugh at, movies with sound was thought to be absolutly outragous, TV's in homes was a fad. What it comes down to is if people are willing, better days lay ahead. Life is not about this has never happend before, so why even try, it is about discovery and betterment.
And many businesses aren't going to allow employees to play video games at work. This is just one of a thousand reasons why wifi and wifi hotspots are not a reasonable substitue for cellular networking. |

Nah, you're just a self-pitying victim who puts forth crazy demands that world conform to your vision or you will pity yourself more. As above, having ideas for a better future often lead to criticism, I humbly accept your critique.
And yet nowhere in this thread have you even suggested a means to go beyond that, having LTE connection does not do that. Like I said at the top. I expected Nintendo to fianlly start to make a product that can compete in the market today. I was looking for a product that had evolved with the time, and would offer a viable option outside of the current dominate OS's. Why do I expect something different after years of closed systems? Because the massive reduction in unit sales of home consoles and handhelds should be an absolutly frightening sight for all involved in the industry. The companies behind this should be adjusting their business model to succeed in a changing market. I would never expect a company to simply ride their bad business decisions straight out of business. So to you I would ask, why would you expect Nintendo to continue down a failing business path? |
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
