It's incredible that, despite the doubts, that a new IP like Splatoon, a Wii U game that is a third person, online mutiplayer shooter, was able to capture the hearts and minds (and wallets) of people in Japan when so much of the gaming landscape has changed (and where the shooter genre hasn't been the most popular). Now we see merchandise, Callie and Marie concerts, tournaments, etc. for such a game. A great story and one game the Wii U can absolutely get credit for. It's pretty interesting that Splatoon may possibly outsell juggernaughts such as Persona 5, FFXV, MGSV, KH3, DQXI (PS4 only, I mean) etc. LT in Japan.

Its not. Its fact at this point. P5/FFXV/MGSV already are known at this point. KH3 wont come close and only DQXI and FF7R HAve a chance but one is multiplat and the other is an unknown factor at this point. Could sell 300k? Could sell 2mil? I dunno as of yet

Well yeah the first three games I've mentioned already showed their potential sales and fell short and all. Just thinking that ALL of these games could potentially be outsold by this new IP astounds me since they're established and popular in Japan. Despite the PS4's popularity in Japan, none of the big exclusive titles can match a Wii U exclusive. Who would've thought something like this could happen?
