Nintendo Switch dock issue

I think the concept as a whole relies on the dock to make it work otherwise selling that it is a portable on the go and it is a console at home would be difficult. So I think the Switch will come with both but maybe later down the line, they will sell a sku without the dock and a lower price. Kind of like how with the 3ds, they later had a version without the 3d but for a lower price.

Since the dock doesn't have its own CPU/GPU/etc, I doubt it would cost much to make anyway.
