When will 3DS' successor launch?

They also said that "DS won't replace GBA" and "NX isn't a successor to WiiU".

Unless Switch fails, I don't think there will be a separate Nintendo handheld.

 

The Switch won't fail because it will be sold at a profit out of the gate. Kimishima-san said so. But the Switch is just one revenue stream and Nintendo's mobile games will be the other. Nintendo will still have two pillars, Switch and mobile. So in a way smart phones are the 3DS successor.
