They didn't provide the bare minimum of support. No Zelda and they considering all the Wii U ports to Switch no Mario Kart or Smash Bros or Splatoon, since you could have just waited a year or two for Switch and get those anyway with extra content, when all other Nintendo systems had most of their games be exclusive to that platform for at least a decade. If they released a Zelda game for Wii U (and not a crap port of Switch Zelda) and kept Wii U games on Wii U then that could be considered support, but they didn't. They didn't just abandon the Wii U but took a huge dump on Wii U owners by making their purchase worthless.
