This is sorta happening with Xbox Play Anywhere. Played Recore on my W10 tablet a few months back and it ran pretty something. Noticed some problems but it was still very much playable. Hardware scalling will be big next year. On the Nintendo side the Switch and its home and portable mpdes, the PS4 and PS4 Pro, and the XB1 Scorpio and W10 devices
