I've a big problem with Xenoblade Chronicles and it resides in its choice of battle system. For me, It lacks the appeal of a turn based JRPG because you don't have control over your party members in combat, and it lacks appeal as an action JRPG because you don't have full control over your character of choice, preventing it from having fast paced battles (basically, I'm blamming the auto-attacks). I own both Xenoblade games because I want to support JRPGs released on Nintendo's systems, but I wasn't able to clock more than 6 hours in Chronicles before dropping it and only tried X to see if it worked. |
I don't see it like that honestly, but it comes down to tastes, I found it pretty addicitive and I did had a much sense of control over the battle than what you describe, maybe you should play it more.
