Simply calling it a handheld doesn't make sense because the word handheld just describes something that you hold in your hand, it doesn't actually state what the product is.

The technical term would be handheld console or handheld gaming device. Handheld describes the form factor while console/gaming device states what the product is.

But as I've pointed out in another post, this might be a better option of naming devices.  But the context here was why the 3DS wasn't included regardless of how you want to label the device.
