Mario plots are about falling back on all the old Mario cliches.
I choose to interpret Mario Run as a coming of age story for Princes Peach.
It starts off which her being an innocent air head who cares for nothing nothing but the colour pink, baking cakes and dreams of being swept up by a handsome mustachioed hero.
Then there's the reality of her kidnapping and her subsequent rescue which makes her reevaluate her role as the victim and she becomes a kick ass playable character with an awesome floating jump.
