I think it's quite hard too see Scorpio outselling the Pro. The PS4 sells much more, the tendency will remain.

Yes, I don't know why anybody would expect anything else.  That's like a strawman argument.
PS has stronger global brand, and being more expensive does not help.
That doesn't mean it can't be a relative success for MS.

It's 4 years after the PS4 ... why wouldn't dramatically better chips be available?
4 years is a long time in tech cycles guys, the chips you can get for the same cost 4 years later is night and day.

The relevant difference is not 4 years, it is 1 year from Slim and Pro.  Scorpio is set to be using same 14nm process.
That process has gotten more mature and efficient in that time, but Sony is also benefitting from that.
So there just isn't a difference in cost structure there, while MS is promising more GPU transistors, RAM, etc.
Which all costs more vs. less transistors, RAM at the same process.  $50 may be tight, $100 easily but with good bundles?

Now hopefully they give up on delivering "real 4K all the time", and use power for checkerboard @ 60fps, better FX, etc.
