Arm does have a simpler instruction set than x86 and Nvidia is making sure the GPU and etc has all the modern tech inside. But remember that developing for isn't the samething as porting for. He gives a pretty great example about the 2 porting scenarios the Switch is gonna face depending on its power. If its powerful enough, the publishers can spend 5 million to easily port it. The publishers get $36 for each copy sold and say it sells a million, they get 36 million which = profit. But if its not powerful enough, that means they would have to make a special version for it which would cost them 40 million. If it sells 1 million, they get 36 million which isn't profitable for the publishers. So yea, makes sense to me |
Oh! Now thats interesting. I guess its good for them low powered games?

Yea if certain games such has jrpgs dont use most of the power the x1/ps4 has to offer then porting to switch should be easy. I fully expect switch to get plenty of japanese third party support but western, apart from old/indies is a different situation entirely.
If the switch can sell tons of units, it might get the typical cod/arsecreed/etc but the big ones like GTA, I doubt it will get.
Overall, much better situation than wiiU in all accounts
