It's either the 2d version or the 3d.

It's not both happening at the same time.

Also, the game isn't "scalable".  They've created essentially 2.5 complete games.  A full 3D console one, a full 3D handheld one, and an SNES looking one that has the exact same layouts as the handheld 3D one.  So if there is no such thing as a version "between" the 3DS and PS4 version via "scaling," if they don't want to port one of the 2 versions they would have to make an entire new game.  So no, the Switch is getting one or the other.
