It throws away the unified games library idea (unless the 3DS replacement can play the Switch games in portable mode). We have a 3DS XL and 3DS they seem to be ok? So Nintendo just makes a smaller Switch nothing extra to program for exact same internals with some limited changes to make it cheaper. I would call that a win for those who have no interest in the home console side of things
